Peter Pangani joins THP Malawi as Country Manager, coming with over twenty years work experience in a wide range of sectors. He held various senior roles with Non-Governmental Organizations, local and internationals, and with the Civil Society.
Prior to joining The Hunger Project, Peter Pangani worked as Head of Programmes and Policy for ActionAid International Malawi where he provided leadership in its programs focusing on women’s and girls’ rights, food security, resilience and humanitarian support, governance, education and youth, sexual and reproductive health rights. Additionally, he was the Diocesan Secretary (Director) for Catholic Development in Malawi (CADECOM) – Archdiocese of Blantyre. Under his leadership, he won back donor confidence in the Commission that saw an influx on programmes and projects.
Peter Pangani has also worked in various capacities at Swedish Cooperative Centre – Malawi Lake Basin Programme; from Organizational and Business Development Specialist, Programme Technical Advisory Group Coordinator to Assistant Director. He pioneered establishment of the program in Malawi and increased its funding base. He has also worked in the positions of Regional Representative for International Centre for Soil Fertility and Agricultural Development IFCD (Agri Input Markets Development Project) and Branch Manager for PRIDE Africa.
He holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) in Tanzania and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from University of Malawi, Bunda College of Agriculture.
