Lisa North joined The Hunger Project in 2012. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees operational areas such as HR, IT and program operations, as well as cross-functional areas such as learning and strategic planning.
Lisa brings twenty-five years of experience in nonprofit management and fundraising. Prior to joining THP she was Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the Institute for Sustainable Communities. Other roles have included campaign director and grants director at the American Friends Service Committee, development officer at the Foundation Center and business manager for Pacifica Radio. In all her roles, she has thrived on finding new ways to drive organizational effectiveness by developing people, strengthening systems and promoting best practices.
Lisa holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in Music from Mills College. She grew up in Vermont and Germany, and has traveled extensively in Africa and Asia. She is married and has three grown children.
