The Sarojini Naidu Prize, granted by The Hunger Project-India, honors three journalists from the print media for outstanding reportage on Women and Panchayati Raj in Hindi, English and Other Indian Language categories. The Prize is given in support and recognition of the vital contribution the media can make in generating awareness, sensitizing people and strengthening popular public opinion towards women's leadership. The Sarojini Naidu Prize 2009 shall focus on the role of Elected Women Leaders in Panchayati Raj in Bringing Education to Every Child and Ensuring Primary Health Care for All.
