Country Director, The Hunger Project-Mexico

Lorena Vázquez Ordaz has served for 10 years in the leadership of The Hunger Project-Mexico. In addition to holding the position of Country Director, she currently serves on the Technical Council of what is called the "Mexico Initiative" of Televisa and TV Azteca, on the Technical Advisory Committee for the Commission to promote civil society organizations and on the Planning and Development Committee of the State of Mexico (COPLADEM).

In the past, Lorena has served on the Citizen Advisory Council for the Social Development Secretariat (SEDESOL) and on Social Co-investment projects for the Social Development Institute (INDESOL). She was also a member of the Evaluation Committee of the "Chain of Support for Good Nutrition" of Boehringer Ingelheim.

Lorena holds a B.Sc. in Computer Systems Management from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), an MBA from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), diplomas in Non-Govermental Organization Management and Private Social Investment for Bottom-up Development from ITESM, Social Development, Poverty and Gender studies from Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) and in Gender and Politics from Center for the Training and Promotion of Women (CEPAF).

Prior to joining The Hunger Project, Lorena worked for seven years in information technology in Mexico and the United States.
