New Zealand: Ruth Osborne
Ruth Osborne joined The Hunger Project-New Zealand in 2013. She was born and raised in Africa, and has for over 25 years worked to undermine the injustice of poverty. She led a fellowship programme for outstanding social entrepreneurs across Southern Africa, and for many years her consultancy supported not-for-profit organisations working directly with people living in poverty. Her specialist areas have included broad-based communications, organisational change, resources mobilisation and stakeholder relationship development. Prior to joining The Hunger Project, she managed the communications portfolio for an Auckland not-for-profit offering workplace support to professionals.
Ruth is passionate about people's empowerment, and believes firmly that the most sustainable interventions for change are when individuals themselves are the authors of their own development.
