Strengthening Local Capacity

The Hunger Project’s work in Latin America focuses on rural and indigenous communities, where there is the greatest concentration of hunger and poverty.

We work in three countries of Latin America:

  • Bolivia, where we work with a partner organization, ACLO, to empower indigenous communities.
  • Mexico, where we carry out a decentralized, gender-focused empowerment strategy in partnership with local government

  • Peru, where we work with a partner organization, Chirapaq, to empower a network of indigenous women's organizations who are promoting access to opportunities, the exercise of women's and indigenous rights and collaboration with local and regional governments.
