The West African nation of Senegal is one of the most stable democracies in Africa. Senegal was the first country of intervention for The Hunger Project in Africa; we have been working there since 1991. The Hunger Project-Senegal is now empowering partners in 10 epicenters communities.
Epicenters Sanar, Namarel and Ndioum have experienced a new spark in the number of activities implemented due to new funding from the Eureko-Achmea Foundation from Netherlands began. In other epicenters, training began for two animators (volunteers) in each village. These newly trained animators train others in their village, exponentially increasing the number of animators in each village.
Ndéye Loum is described by her close relations and companions as an ever-present, tireless and committed individual dedicated to the development of her village and its surroundings. She has become a Trainer of Trainers on women's rights and shares her story.
