Mozambique is On the Move

Dr. Fitigu Tadesse, The Hunger Project's Director for Africa, was in Mozambique in October where he delivered the Vision, Commitment and Action Workshop (VCAW) to the leaders of seven cooperatives that are members of UGC, the Union of Cooperatives.  UGC's leader is Africa Prize laureate Celina Cossa.

The Hunger Project introduced the African Woman Food Farmer Initiative in Mozambique earlier this year, which is coordinated by Ana Sumbana.  She works in partnership with UGC and has been given office space by UGC for her work.

On Sunday, 2 December, the Africa Prize statue will travel from Malawi to Maputo, Mozambique as part of The Hunger Project's campaign for the economic empowerment of the women farmers of that continent.
