The Hunger Project-Mexico has trained hundreds of catalysts (volunteer leaders) who are launching village-level projects in their communities, and developed strategic alliances with government and local partners.
On the December 1, 2008, The Hunger Project-Malawi joined the rest of the world in commemorating this year's World AIDS Day. The event engaged various members of the community in presentations on important issues from prevention to care.
Cecilia Loría Saviñon, former member of The Hunger Project's Global Board of Directors, passed away on December 8th after a long struggle with cancer. Cecilia was a respected advocate of Mexico's feminist movement for over 20 years and a committed government official.
