The Hunger Project and Land O'Lakes International Development Host Panel on Governance and Halting Gender-Based Violence
As a part of the 2013 session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, The Hunger Project and Land O’Lakes International Development hosted a parallel event on March 12, 2013. The topic was Women, Governance and Halting Gender-Based Violence. The turnout was great – every seat was filled.
Land O’Lakes shared the impact of women’s leadership in dairy cooperatives, particularly in Kenya – including showing how outreach programs of dairy cooperatives played a role in preventing violence during the recent Kenyan elections.
The Hunger Project shared about the role of women leaders in local government, particularly in South Asia but also globally.
